I like Chadwick – he discovered the neutron and wrote one paragraph in a journal about it (neutrons are in every atom and used in everything I do!). It was like it was no big deal at all. Maybe he didn’t realise quite what a discovery he had made…

      Alexander von Humboldt
He travelled Southern America and made maps of it, brought lots of samples (plants, animals) home so they could be studied. He was a little bit extreme in that nothing and nobody could stop him in his adventures. But he was so determined and brave for science!

what type of scientist? Like ecologist, nuclear physicist? I’d have to say wildlife biologist–they get to spend their research type camped out in awesome places watching animals!

As for who my favourite individual scientist is, there are so many it’s hard to pick. There are many who’ve actually given their lives for their science, such as Rosalin Franklin or members of Dr Reed’s team who figured out Yellow Fever. I guess, though, my absolute favourite scientists would be my mom!!

Galileo Galilei – he made some incredible discoveries (like the Sun is at the centre of the solar system, at that there are moon around Jupiter) and he defended his ideas even though it meant he spent the last years of his life under house arrest, as the church didn’t like his discoveries. Now that’s dedication!
