      It’s just engineering applied to biological systems like biosensors etc

      I am not 100% sure but I think it brings together skills from engineering (more kinetics, mechanics etc) together with biology to make new applications.

      It’s basically using engineering to help solve biological problems. There’s also bio-mimetrics; using biology to help solve engineering problems (for example velcro, which was invented after the sticky grass burs).
