      The plough.

During the agricultural revolution we went from being poor and starving to being relatively well off and well fed. That’s all due to farming advances. Things like the plough etc. have helped us grow things on a huge scale – so we can let a few people take care of farming while everyone else does other things and help make everything better (Build houses, make computers etc). If we hadn’t figured out how to get food more easily, we wouldn’t have done anything else, we’d all be spending all day every day trying to farm our own food!

The energy saving/ efficient light bulb.
It works for up to 10 years, does not waste a lot of the electrical energy as heat (as normal light bulbs do) and still makes your room nice and bright!
