      Definitely!

      I you eat a diet very high in fat, salt, and sugar and on the contrary don’t eat a lot of fruit and veg that will increase your risk for getting all kinds of heart diseases.

      On the other hand a so-called healthy diet containing loads of fruit and veg, enough fibre and lean meat but not a lot of fat, salt, and sugar will decrease your risk for getting cardiovascular disease.

      But please don’t forget: diet can have a big influence but is only ONE factor contributing to the risk. Other factors are for example smoking, exercise, obesity, and also your genes.
